A TIMELINE OF NATHAN STACK'S MUSIC

  • 1990s: Nathan, then a resident of Louisiana, teaches himself to play keyboard and guitar, and gets his start writing and recording songs using an inexpensive four-track cassette machine. He also contributes guitar, keyboard and backing vocals to a cover band called D.J. Nick Luft and the Worldos.

  • 1999: Nathan's cover of "Girls on Film" appears on the CD Glue: A Tribute to the Music of Duran Duran. A portion of proceeds from the album benefits the charity RAINN.

  • 2000: Nathan moves to Greensboro, North Carolina.

  • 2002: Nathan releases his debut solo CD, Shooting the Decoy, which contains a mixture of rock and electronic music.

  • 2003: Nathan is the lead singer in a rock band called The Big Secret, whose repertoire includes both covers and originals, including several songs from Shooting the Decoy.

  • 2004: Nathan establishes Autohypnosis, his primary solo music project, and begins putting his new electronic music creations online.

  • 2005: Nathan begins performing live under the Autohypnosis moniker.

  • 2006: Nathan releases the debut Autohypnosis CD, a five-song EP titled The Surface.

  • 2007/2008: Nathan temporarily moves back to Louisiana to work on new music, while preparing to move to Los Angeles in 2008.
